Janet Metcalf - Chair
Janet Metcalf served nine terms in the Iowa House of Representatives, representing Urbandale, Clive, Grimes and Windsor Heights, until her retirement in 2002. She served as Chair of the following House committees: Commerce and Regulation, State Government, Administrative Rules Review, and the Economic Development Appropriation Sub- committee. Ms. Metcalf will complete her current term as a Broadlawns trustee in December 2010. Ms. Metcalf also serves as a member of the Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors.

Jean Logan - Vice Chair
Jean Logan, R.N., Ph.D. is a professor of nursing at Grand View University. Dr. Logan served as the president, president-elect and secretary of the Iowa Association of Colleges of Nursing (IACN). Dr. Logan has also served as the Secretary of the Iowa Council of Nurses and as a member of the Iowa Healthcare Workforce Development Committee. Dr. Logan will complete her first term in December 2010.

Dave Harkness - Treasurer
Dave Harkness owns and operates CM Consulting Services. Prior to that, he was employed in broadcasting. He has an extensive background in programming, consulting and branding radio properties.
Mr. Harkness is a member of the Broadlawns Medical Center Board of Trustees. Mr. Harkness was elected to a six-year term in 2000. He also served a six-year term on the Broadlawns’ board from 1993 to 1998. His current term expires in December 2012.

Secretary - Mary Fuller
Mary Fuller retired from the Des Moines Public Schools. She will finish her fourth term in December 2012. In addition Ms. Fuller participates in Broadlawns Medical Center committee meetings.

Cynthia Gray
Cynthis Gray is currently serving her second term, which will expire in December 2014. Ms. Gray serves as chair of the Planning Committee.

Charles (Chuck) Montgomery
Chuck Montgomery is a managing senior attorney with MidAmerican Energy Company. He serves as the treasurer of the Board of Directors for the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy, is a member of the Board of Directors for the Terrace Hill Foundation, and is a member of the Partners for Progress Committee at East High School in Des Moines. Mr. Montgomery was appointed to fill a vacated seat. His term will end in December 2010.

Michael D. Treinen
Michael Treinen is a retired partner of BrownWinick Law Firm. He was previously a corporate attorney at the Principal Financial Group. Mr. Treinen serves in many civic organizations, including the Fort Des Moines Black Officers & WAAC Memorial, the Downtown Lions Club, Des Moines Playhouse, Iowa Regional Library Board, Iowa State Bar Association Corporate Law Subcommittee, Iowa Association of Business & Industry Health Committee, and the Civil Rights & Employment Practices Committee. Mr. Treinen is a retired Army Reserve Colonel and a Vietnam veteran. He currently serves on the Broadlawns Medical Center Government Relations Advisory Council. Mr. Treinen will complete his first term in December 2014.
