As the community hospital, Broadlawns is dedicated to serving the most vulnerable patient populations and providing access to high quality healthcare for the underserved and at-risk individuals within our community. One way that you can help support our patients is with an in-kind contribution.

Please drop off donations, along with your completed in-kind donation form, to the Information Desk at the main hospital entrance, Monday through Friday between 8am and 4pm. Please note that we are unable to accept used or gently used items for health and sanitary reasons.

Items needed include:

• Care essentials (shampoo, body wash, face wash, feminine hygiene products, etc)
• Books (adult, young adult, and children’s fiction, non-fiction, and activity books or magazines)
• Blankets
• Clothing
• Pediatric Clinic Target Wish List

A special opportunity for those 70½ years old and older. Make a difference today and save on taxes by giving any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as the Broadlawns Medical Center Foundation. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short. Beginning in the year you turn 72, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD). You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions. Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
