Insurance

Comprehensive medical and dental insurance is available on a cost sharing basis.

Disability insurance and malpractice insurance are provided by Broadlawns at no cost to the resident.

Conference Time/Continuing Medical Education

First year residents receive four days of conference time annually; second and third year residents receive five days of conference time annually.

A conference allowance is provided for approved expenses; such as, USMLE or COMLEX board examinations, ABPN board certification, educational conferences, personal medical texts, etc. 

Licensure and Professional Membership Fees

The program pays for the resident medical license and state controlled substance registration. Permanent medical license fees are paid on a cost–sharing basis.

Membership to local, state medical associations and the American Psychiatric Association is paid by Broadlawns Medical Center.

Memberships to other national organizations are the individual’s responsibility.

Professional Attire

Scrubs and labs coats are provided free of charge.

Housing

Relocation Allowance

A one-time moving allowance of $1,350 is provided to cover any expenses incurred.

Housing Stipend

All residents receive a monthly housing stipend of $550 ($6,600 annually) whether you live on campus or off campus.

On Campus Housing

A limited number of on-site campus apartments are available, to which the resident pays an association fee. The resident housing complex offers either a one (1) bedroom or two (2) bedroom option. 

  • All utilities (water, gas & electricity) are covered.
  • Internet and cable are the resident’s responsibility to pay.
  • Pet friendly complex.
  • Fenced in backyard.

While living in the on-site housing, a unique sense of belonging to a truly supportive community quickly develops among the residents and their families.
