Dr. Besecker brings a wealth of experience in both clinical care and healthcare leadership, with expertise in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical excellence. Before joining Broadlawns, she served as U.S. Director of Medical Affairs for Adult Nutrition at Abbott Nutrition, where she led medical strategy and evidence-based initiatives.

Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Besecker has held leadership roles at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, including Vice Chair of Quality and Patient Safety in the Department of Internal Medicine. She also earned an MBA from Ohio State's Fisher College of Business, enhancing her ability to integrate clinical care with operational efficiency.

Dr. Besecker is committed to improving healthcare delivery by reducing physician burnout and enhancing patient outcomes. Her research on micronutrients in immunity, supported by over a decade of NIH funding, has deepened her understanding of the critical intersection between nutrition and patient care, particularly in critical illness.
