Student Opportunities 

Broadlawns Medical Center provides quality clinical rotation, job shadowing and internship/preceptorship opportunities for health profession students at local community organizations, clinics and hospitals. We work with colleges, universities and health profession training programs from across the country.

Our goal is to provide real-life experiences for our students, introducing them to a variety of health, science and medical careers available at Broadlawns. In addition, students will receive excellent resources and education while building relationships and creating networking opportunities. 

Overview 

  • Medical, Physicians Assistant, and PharmD Students 
    • Broadlawns Medical Center provides an extensive array of rotation opportunities catering to diverse medical professionals, including Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Medical Doctors (MD), Physician Assistants (PA), Doctors of Pharmacy (PharmD), and Psychiatry candidates. 
  • Advanced degree: Masters Programs
    • Rotation opportunities available in a variety of diverse locations hospital wide.
  • Nursing: Clinicals and Preceptorships 
    • Opportunities for ASN, AAS. BSN, ABSN, programs are available in a variety of areas, including Med/Surg, ICU, Behavioral Health, Birthing Center, Emergency, and a variety of outpatient clinics. 
  • Scrub Tech, Surg Tech
    • Scrub Techs and Surg Techs have opportunity to experience a variety of surgery cases including, Gyne, Ortho, General, Plastics, Urology, and more. 
  • CNA
    • We provide a valuable direct care experience in an actual setting
  • All other Clinical Programs
    • Opportunities are available in the following areas: 
      • Behavioral Health; Dental Assisting; Diabetics Emergency Medical Technician; Medical Information Management, Pharmacy; Physical Therapy; Radiologic Technician.
  • Job Shadowing
    • Job shadowing providing students experience to observe actual health care professional. Such opportunities allow students to explore and "try on" various healthcare careers.
    • Job shadow opportunities are limited to 4 hours. 
  • Broadlawns Affiliation Agreement 
    • The purpose of this Agreement is to define the rights and responsibilities of institution, which offers an education program for healthcare students, and Hospital, which provides supervised clinical or practical experiences for healthcare students.
