About
Dr. Lewis completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Puget Sound where he graduated with honors and majored in comparative sociology. He obtained his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. Following a traditional rotating internship at Downey Regional Medical Center, he went on to complete a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of California at Davis, where he served as Chief Resident.
Following his residency, Dr. Lewis served as a professor and clinical educator at Des Moines University, in West Des Moines, Iowa. He has been the recipient of University Teaching and Service awards, the 2014 Iowa ‘Physician of the Year Award’, and the 2020 National ‘AOA Mentor of the Year Award’.
Dr. Lewis is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and by the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy, and the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators.
He has served as a subject matter expert for NBOME, AOBPMR, and ACGME; a board member and board examiner of AOBPMR, and as the national representative to the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists as a representative of AOBPMR. Dr. Lewis completed his interventional pain fellowship at NorCal Pain Treatment Center.
