Why I chose my field
"I chose to become a therapist to support caregivers and those navigating the complex path that is grief. Prior to choosing Broadlawns, I completed internships at Broadlawns Geriatrics and Memory Center, and in bereavement with a local in-home hospice organization. In my previous career, I worked as lead psychometrist for a local neuropsychologist assisting in evaluations for different forms of dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological conditions. I have received training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to treat PTSD. Additionally, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-based approaches. I am dedicated to offering empathetic counseling and helping others navigate the delicate realms of caregiving and grief with nonjudgment and understanding."
