About
I started my career as a nurse working on a cardiac floor 25+ years ago. I worked at the bedside and also in leadership roles. My passion for caring for others has grown into a career of providing for others. I have been able to work as a provider in different roles at Broadlawns (BMC) throughout the mental health section for the last eight years. Working as a provider to support the needs of the patients at BMC every day is one of the most rewarding positions to date. I enjoy opportunities in which I can serve on church committees. I am a board member of the Iowa Chapter of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) and a Nursing Instructor for a college in Iowa. I value and treasure the moments I can spend with my extended family. I have two siblings who live close to me. I love spending time with my sister and her family. My parents are a great joy, my four adult children are special to me, and my grandchildren are a blessing. I enjoy watching my family grow and change. I can attend my grandchildren's sporting and school events. I can enjoy and value my time with my friends in my hometown. We play cards, camp, and enjoy each other's time. In my free time, I relax by watching movies, sewing, listening to music, cooking, attending classic car shows, and furthering my education. I have a passion for Veterans in our communities. I hold respect and admiration for all who have served for our freedom.
Why I chose Broadlawns
"Broadlawns is a unique hospital, allowing me, as a provider, the time to care for my patient's needs. It is time to ensure the care given is safe, with the latest scientific evidence. I can offer our patients in the mental health field hope for positive outcomes."
