Why I chose Broadlawns
While I was working in an emergency crisis setting, I chose psychiatry as a specialty after I saw the need for individuals to have access to other options for mental health care. I chose Broadlawns because of its diverse patient population. Having spent time living overseas, I had experienced the difficulties of seeking care in a country that was not my own. I have also witnessed the uneasiness of those who come out of fear and distrust. My desire has been to make that transition easier for those who are seeking out care for the first time or returning for care. I believe with mental health it is essential we provide a level of compassionate and comprehensive care that empowers them with hope while they develop resilience in their journey. In my spare time, I founded and run a Bipolar support group called BASE weekly, spend time attending my families' activities, and traveling.
