Broadlawns Announces Proctor Lureman as President and Chief Executive Officer Press Release May 21, 2024 NEWS RELEASE (Des Moines, IA) – Broadlawns Medical Center (BMC) Board of Trustees announced today that Proctor Lureman will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization effective July 15, 2024. “After an extensive nationwide search, Proctor Lureman emerged as the top recommendation from the CEO Search Committee, a diverse panel consisting of physicians, front line staff, community representatives and a subset of the Board of Trustees. With unanimous agreement from the Board of Trustees today, Proctor has been chosen to serve as the next President and CEO for Broadlawns” stated Dave Miglin, Chair of the BMC Board of Trustees. “Proctor’s exceptional leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to both the community and Broadlawns were evident throughout the selection process. We eagerly anticipate his arrival and hold firm confidence that he will excel as a leader for Broadlawns and the entire Polk County community.” Proctor Lureman comes to Broadlawns with more than 25 years of experience in hospital operations and physician group management. His hands-on leadership style stems from his varied experiences in leading teams and strategy development. As Vice President, Operations at UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, he leads a team of more than 200 physicians and advanced practice providers, and 1,200 medical professionals. An alumnus of Drake University, his academic foundation complements his healthcare expertise.
