‘There is no better feeling than witnessing a mother realizing just how strong she truly is’: Kennedy Roland's love for Labor & Delivery

Kennedy chose to become a Labor and Delivery Nurse because she wanted to be a voice of encouragement for mothers. She chose to take her skills to Broadlawns because of the collaborative work environment.

"The teamwork between the departments is open and supportive. The work environment is accepting, and there are always learning experiences that provide growth and knowledge as a healthcare professional that ultimately improve patient-centered care."

As a nurse in the Family Birthing Center, she feels honored to care for her patients who are going through a life-changing experience. She considers it a privilege to scrub in on these cases and have a front row seat to see a parent's life change. "Being an advocate for our patient population is important and being a part of their support system is an opportunity that I will never take for granted. There is no better feeling than witnessing a mother realizing just how strong she truly is."
