Why I chose Broadlawns for my residency?

I chose Broadlawns because of its incredible reputation in training well-rounded Family Medicine physicians. It checked all of the boxes for me: strong inpatient experiences, diverse patient populations, supportive environments with kind and passionate faculty, and the opportunity to train in the state of Iowa. Additionally, Broadlawns is truly on the front lines of community health initiatives in the hospital and beyond which I'm excited to be a part of. I'm so happy to be back home and continue my training here.

Favorite things to do in Des Moines?

I'm obsessed with the DSM Farmer's Market, where getting an arepa from Arepa DSM is a must. I also love Bell Hop, Secret Admirer, Black Cat Ice Cream, and Gray's Lake.
