Why I chose Broadlawns for my residency?
I was looking for a community-based, unopposed program that would fully prepare me for the challenges of rural practice. I remember rotating as a student and seeing firsthand the level of autonomy given to the residents, and I knew I would get excellent training here. I also was drawn to the culture of the program where the residents and faculty seemed to really take pride in Broadlawns, knowing how important the hospital is for the community it serves, while seeming to always have fun and truly enjoy each other’s company.
Hobbies
Anything sports (golf, pickup basketball, sand volleyball, pickle ball), hanging out on the back patio or around the fire with my wife and co-residents, playing guitar, going to movies in the actual movie theater!
